August 1, 2010

I can't believe it is August already! Time just flies these days. Mike and I decided that at the end of September we are going to Vegas...alone. Our relationship is so much more different when we are alone. Can't wait to cut loose...foot loose (sorry had to throw that in). Anyway, B's bottom tooth finally cut and now you can feel the sharpness along his gums. 3 more to go (that I can see). He is getting so brave lately. Yesterday he was playing with his friend (ok my friend) Ariana and all of a sudden I see both hands up in the air over the half wall. I asked Ariana if he was balancing his tummy on the table and she said "no, he stood for a split second!" So naturally when they left I tried to get him to do it again. I placed at the edge of the coffee table and I sat on the couch, held out my hands and told him to "come to mama". He let go and took one step, then crashed to the ground on his butt! Needless to say he didn't try again. I think he will be walking before his first birthday. My biggest fear though, is if he takes his first steps while we are gone in Vegas. I so don't want to miss it.

*********Note to Grandmas that are watching B while we are gone- DO NOT ENCOURAGE WALKING WHILE WE ARE GONE PLEASE**************

This is the best picture I could get, you can see his shining tooth on his bottom left. Hard I know, but it is fully there. The top two are right there too.

On another note, I am doing a 5K at the end of August. I probably already mentioned this previously. I'm not a runner so this is a real challenge for me. According to the running program I'm doing, I should be able to run 2 miles now. HAHAHA. I modified this a bit. On my run I took a wrong turn and ended up running up a hill for 7 minutes of my 10 min run cycle. It pretty much took everything out of me and ruined the rest of the run. I couldn't complete my next 10 min run after my 2 minute recovering. Then I started gagging and felt like I was going to throw up. I decided to try the last 10 min run again after a longer recovery and STILL couldn't complete it. I am so screwed for this race. I want to give up so bad. Now I kinda want to get pregnant so that I have an excuse to eat brownies and lay on the couch (like I could/would anyways). Just a thought.

9 Months Old

B is as old as it took me to grow him! (does that make sense?) Had his 9 month pictures taken and I decided instead of slicking his hair down, we're just going to go all out and fro it out. One last hurray before we cut it around his first birthday. So we sprayed it with water, scrunched it, and then put hair spray in it. Now he looks like crazy cave man or wild monkey man. I think it is cute though.

Yesterday I thought I saw two teeth buds on the top. That makes two on top and two on bottom. It's like they come and go, which is irritating to me and I am sure B doesn't like it either. It must be the gums swelling around it that makes it seem like it is disappearing. It will be funny if I put B to bed with no teeth and then he wakes up with a mouth full, like John Elway. HAHA

He thinks he can stand unassisted too. This morning he climbed on Mike whild Mike was lying down and then just let go. He stood there for half a second and then started to fall. Mike caught him with his feet. Now I see where B gets it (using his feet as hands that is).

Zoo Day 2010

This isn't B's first time at the zoo. We all went to Zoo Lights when he was 2 months old. This experience was a little better. If you point out the animals to him he sees them, but if you don't the fence and kids around him are more interesting. I am sure next year he will really enjoy it. I wonder how big he will be next to these bears next year? Maybe standing next to them.
He liked the elephants because they were so big he could see them. We got to watch them get a bath and hear them trumpet when done. It kinda of scared him at first because it was pretty loud.
Giraffes were another favorite because of their size. There was also a new baby there too. So cute.
Look how big B is next to the polar bear. This will be another yearly picture. He liked hitting the glass and yelling in the underwater viewing area.

All and all it was a good day. One breakdown on the tour train, but good thing cousin Lanie was there to help distract him. That was probably B's highlight of the trip, seeing cousin Lanie. He wanted to be held by her as soon as he saw her. After that it was "forget about the animals, Lanie is here!" Very cute. I hope they always like each other. Now if we could only get cousins on the other side of the family...hahaha.

Son of a Biscuit Eating Bull Dog

So I've noticed that a lot of B's stuff is really similar to what you would give a dog. For instance, "Mike can you grab a chew toy for B?" and "Here you go B, mama got you a teething biscuit". If you didn't know that B was a human, you probably thought I was talking about my dog. Well, here are some pics of B gnawing away at his chew biscuit. What a sloppy mess it makes. He was covered in pieces of wheat biscuit. It was cute though.

Crazy in love

A few pics from our "romantic weekend getaway".
At the wedding (yes that is a maternity dress). I wanted to eat a ton of free food.

Us at the Garden of the Gods

This is what happens when I drink...Kareoke. Oh yeah Beyonce watch out.

Sexy mama...oh and daddy too. ;-)

Standing

B can now pull himself up to a standing position. Whether its in his crib, the stairs or the make shift gate (ie the punching bag), all he wants to do is stand. When you hold him sitting down, he wants to climb you, up and over your shoulders. I think I am getting this kid a jungle gym sooner than I thought. He really is our little monkey. The only problem is when he stands up he can't get back down. Remember the post about him not being able to roll from belly to back, and we would have to get up numerous times in the middle of the night to flip him over? Well, now we go in to lay him down. I will admit, is the cutest thing to walk into his room after his nap and he is standing there all smiles. Now he also thinks he can jump. I picked him up from his crib and as soon as he felt my hands over his chest he started jumping. He thinks he can jump over the "gate" as well and put one leg up. I know he will be getting over that really soon. I feel though, that is pointless to buy baby gates now when we are trying to move. I guess I need to get the really adjustable ones so that it will fit our next house as well. I am more tired now than ever before. I am constantly running after this dude. He is the sweetest little thing.

8 Months

He is looking older and older. I know I say this everytime I do one of these posts but jeez. So far B is eating, apples, peaches, blueberries, squash, bananas, sweet potatoes, peas, green beans, asparagus, cauliflower, and oatmeal. He can now pull himself up to standing in the crib, do headstands, and crawling all around. I find myself extremly tired all the time from chasing after him. We don't have any gates up because we would rather buy gates for our more permanent house. Speaking of, no movement on our end. We get the occasional showing here and there, but not much. We just re-poured the driveway which was one of the biggest complaints on our house, the cracked driveway. I don't know if this means its going to sell, so we will see.

The weekend trip went really well. B was good for grandma and I didn't cry once! I didn't realize how needed it was til we got it. Now I'm excited to go to Mexico for 4 days...If we can afford it.
