First Day Back to Work.

Some minor bumps in the road. First of all, Mike is sick and would just love to lay in bed all day, but nope, he has his first full day with him. I called him around noon and he said "I'm only half way done, and I need a break". I swear it is harder to raise kids then to actually go to work. Second of all, I didn't bring enough empty bottles/bags to fill with my milk. I resorted to cleaning out my water bottle and using that.

Pumping at work seems to be going ok. I am glad I was able to pump before I headed to the nursery for ultrasounds or else I would've breastfed all the babies. It did make me miss my little man for sure. I had to be at work at 6:30 this morning and when I left the house at 5:40, B was up and in a full cry. I like to think he was crying because he knew I was leaving (not because he went 7 1/2 hours without food, the longest yet). Mike keeps sending me pictures of him and I told him to show him pictures of me so he doesn't forget me, hahaha. I can't wait to get home!

I am so tired! I am not used to getting up at 5 am and staying up! I usually go back to bed and Mike feeds him at 8 am.

I keep wondering what they are doing and if he is being stimulated enough. I wonder if he knows I'm not there.

On a lighter note, at least I don't work 5 days a week (even though I work 12 hour days) and it is definitly reassuring to know I am not leaving him at day care!

It sucks now because I can't use the excuse of having braxton hicks contractions to lay down for an hour at work! Plus, no one helps me push beds anymore and no one cares that I have to reach over people in the ICU. I guess since I don't have a belly there is no more sympathy.

Well, when I get home I am going to snuggle the crap out of my baby!

  1. Sounds like you're doing pretty OK considering. I bet you'll be in the swing of things, and a pro at being a working mom in no time.
