Sweet Potatoes Not So Sweet

Well, initally it was good, but by the next time his lips stayed closed. Oh
well, on to peas in a week. Want proof that my baby boy needs a haircut, here you go. I think when you can do this to it, its time

So cute. but dad got mad at us, well me mostly. Here is more proof my boy can sit...

Please note his middle toe hangs lower than his big toe, like Grandma Sue's and mommy's. HAHA cute. So in love with this boy.

5 months old

Oh how time flies! Well he is technically 5 months and 2 days, but you get the point. He is looking so mature for his age. The other day at church there was a 6 month old in the cry room with us and he had the shortest legs, chubbiest cheeks, and bald head. He made B look old for his age. It kind of made me sad. I don't want my 7 lb 14 oz brand new baby to get too big too fast.

Getting ready to start another solid, probably sweet potatoes. I was going to start last week, but forgot to pick one up at the grocery store. Yes, I plan on making my own baby food. I don't know how long it will last, but the idea of having fresh organic baby food free of perservatives is quite appealing to me.
I was looking at his older pictures (since I am starting his 1 year old montage, those things can take awhile) and he looked so small in his car seat, now his feet are practically hanging out! He is still having trouble rolling from his belly to his back and he will let you know when it's time to flip him over. Funny (not) that he just goes right back to his belly. It is a never ending game (to him).

I am just about done breastfeeding. I mostly do it for naps and before bed. I don't know if it is more for me or him. It really does calm/ soothes him and heaven forbid I deny him of that ;-). I just love him snuggling up against me, although I can do without the ripping away when he gets distracted.

So we are putting the house up for sale...any takers? If it doesn't sell we will just continue with our refiancing. We aren't in a big hurry to sell, but it would be nice to move on and not have to constantly have our house "show ready", it really isn't that easy to do with a baby. We will probably end up staying in the same area because it is between the two families. I would love to live near my family and Mike would love to live with his family. So I guess this is the compromise. You would think house hunting would be fun, and my friends are so excited for me because they love looking for houses, but with Mike and I, it could end in blood shed. No seriously, the problem is Mike wants a new house and I don't want to travel that far for work. Well, I work in Denver and the new subdivisions are on the outskirts. Plus, now that we know what we want for our second home, compromises don't come that easy. A few things we do agree on, a 4th bedroom or study and a basement. Like I said, good thing we aren't in a huge hurry.

Warmer Weather

This warmer weather we have been having is making me want summer soon! The other day B and I went on a nice long walk around the lake near our house. He loved it! I need to find him a hat and buy some baby sunscreen. With his strawberry blonde hair, he is going to fry this summer. I am excited to put him in his new swimsuits too, they are sooooo cute. The only bad thing about the nice weather is now I don't have any excuse not to go for a walk/run. This healthier living style is not really going well. The other day I made brownies! I couldn't let a brand new box of brownie mix go to waste right?! Nevermind the constant fight with myself not to make puppy chow.

On another note, we just got our house appraised because we are looking to refinance. Haven't heard back yet, but I hope it is good. It got us thinking, maybe we should just buy a new house. We are so cramped in our house and there is no way we could have another baby while still living there. If we are going to try again next year then we might as well just move. The question is where? I would like to be within 30 min of work, but that could be difficult to find something we like in a neighborhood that is suitable for our child/childern.

Going to start B on some sweet potatoes next week so I'm sure I will have some interesting pictures. We also decided that the time has come to trim up his hair. Probably before his 6 month pictures.

Eating and Sitting

I swear my boy is advanced! Seriously, sitting at 4 1/2 months! I mean, hello, he is going to win the World Series and cure cancer by age 30! Even if he doesn't I will be so proud of whatever he decides to do. He is eating rice cereal now. Well, most of it goes in his mouth. The doctor said this should help with the massive amounts of spit up. He is also sleeping through the night. We had to ferberize him, the first two or three nights were a little tough, but really that is all it took. Seven to ten minutes sometimes feels like hours to me, but Mike insisted we stay strong and I am so glad I listened. Now we sleep from 9pm to 6 am, then up to eat and back to bed til 8:30- 9:00. This will last until another growth spurt I am sure. Here are some pics of him eating. Sitting pics still to come.
P.S It is getting to harder to post blogs as he gets more and more active.
Oh I almost forgot...He is rolling back to belly too! Like seriously advanced.
