Standing
B can now pull himself up to a standing position. Whether its in his crib, the stairs or the make shift gate (ie the punching bag), all he wants to do is stand. When you hold him sitting down, he wants to climb you, up and over your shoulders. I think I am getting this kid a jungle gym sooner than I thought. He really is our little monkey. The only problem is when he stands up he can't get back down. Remember the post about him not being able to roll from belly to back, and we would have to get up numerous times in the middle of the night to flip him over? Well, now we go in to lay him down. I will admit, is the cutest thing to walk into his room after his nap and he is standing there all smiles. Now he also thinks he can jump. I picked him up from his crib and as soon as he felt my hands over his chest he started jumping. He thinks he can jump over the "gate" as well and put one leg up. I know he will be getting over that really soon. I feel though, that is pointless to buy baby gates now when we are trying to move. I guess I need to get the really adjustable ones so that it will fit our next house as well. I am more tired now than ever before. I am constantly running after this dude. He is the sweetest little thing.

8 Months
He is looking older and older. I know I say this everytime I do one of these posts but jeez. So far B is eating, apples, peaches, blueberries, squash, bananas, sweet potatoes, peas, green beans, asparagus, cauliflower, and oatmeal. He can now pull himself up to standing in the crib, do headstands, and crawling all around. I find myself extremly tired all the time from chasing after him. We don't have any gates up because we would rather buy gates for our more permanent house. Speaking of, no movement on our end. We get the occasional showing here and there, but not much. We just re-poured the driveway which was one of the biggest complaints on our house, the cracked driveway. I don't know if this means its going to sell, so we will see.
The weekend trip went really well. B was good for grandma and I didn't cry once! I didn't realize how needed it was til we got it. Now I'm excited to go to Mexico for 4 days...If we can afford it.

Good-Bye My Love
This weekend will be the first time I will not have slept under the same roof as B. I knew this day would come eventually, but it just seems so soon. Don't get me wrong, I am also looking forward to spending some much needed alone time with my husband, but I am really torn inside. I'm not worried about leaving B at grandma's, I'm just afraid because she does things differently, that it might effect him. What if he thinks we abandoned him? What if he can't go to sleep at night and only I know the trick to get him to sleep? What if there is an emergency and nobody knows CPR but me? What if he starts crawling on his hands and knees and I'm not there to see it? What if...I could go on forever.
If I can't do this, then I can't go to Mexico at the end of the year and I really NEED that.
I also know that this is the first of many summer sleep overs at Grandmas. He'll do fine, I mostly worried about myself.

Waving
Little man is waving. It is so cute. yet another milestone in the books. He copied dad this morning and actually open and closed his hand. Very cute. Now if we can get him to crawl. He is so close. He gets up on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth. He starts to cry because he gets scared and then plops down on his elbows and army crawls away. He is also trying to do head stands all the time too. Now that is funny to watch. Ahhh the joys of parenthood. Love it!

Bully in the Pool
So I guess my kid is the trouble maker. Really?! Who would of thought a Johnson being a trouble maker. The kiddie pool at my mom's house was freezing at first so B didn't want to join his cousin J in the pool until we added hot water. Initially he didn't like it but warmed up to it. When he got in he liked it and started splashing all the other kids, J, Robbie Roo, Jeff, myself, Ariana, and Jake. It got so bad that Sarah and Ariana had to move their kids away from B. Poor J was crying. He was having fun until B got in. Oh well, what can you do but laugh. Cailyn, being the only girl, sat back and just watched the boys get crazy. Next time, we will dunk her. Just Kidding.

Glenwood Springs
For our anniversary (4Th) we decided to stay in Glenwood Springs for the night. It would be perfect since B likes the pool, he would love the hot springs. Everything was going great. We exchanged gifts when we woke up, I got flowers and a new laptop and Mike got a new watch. We packed up B and headed out. I forgot my swimsuit so we turned around and went back. Good thing we weren't too far out. On our way we stopped at the Silverthorne outlet shops and did a little shopping. We made it up to Glenwood Springs and checked into our room. I asked to be away from other guests because of B so we were the only ones on the 4Th floor. We ate dinner and went for a walk, the true challenge was about to take place.
On our walk, Mike wasn't paying attention where he was stepping and my yell was too late. He stepped on a Gardner snake. We both screamed and ran. He says he is now part of an elite group of snake bite survivors. When we got back to our room it was time to test out the pack and play for the first time. Let's just say B was up every two hours screaming and it took another 45 minutes to get him down. I finally put him in the bathroom and we all were able to sleep for 4 hours straight. It brought me back to the newborn times. Yikes, not ready for that any time too soon.
All and all we had a good time. He did like the hot springs. He used his turtle floaty for the first time and loved relaxing in it. Next hotel trip B will be at the sitters though.
