I can't believe my precious baby is 6 months old. It got me thinking, with all his changes and milestones, what are mine? In 6 months my baby has learned that if he cries he gets attended to, he can grab his feet, hands, toys, and shake a rattle, jump in his jumperoo, has a few favorite songs, can roll over, hold his bottle, laugh, sit-up, and much more. So now I wonder, in 6 months what have I learned/changed? Here is a short list of things that have changed me;
1.) I never knew I could love another human as much as I love my baby.
2.) I have never been as "okay" with multiple bodily fluids on me, although extremely annoying, not as disgusting as I thought.
3.) My mind, especially my memory, is not as sharp as it used to be. I can never find my phone or car key and I forget appointments and gatherings with others.
4.) I thought I knew what tired felt like before B. Boy, was I way off.
5.) I have a new found sympathy for other moms in the store whose child is throwing a temper tantrum, whose child is ill and or in the hospital, and single mothers.
6.) You can now talk to me before my cup of coffee in the morning.
7.) I pay more attention to lyrics of songs, profanity, and the tone in my voice when B is around.
8.) I really understand the saying "this hurts me more than it hurts you," in reference to shots and nap time.
9.) Drinking isn't as fun anymore.
10.) I never knew how much fun and joy there is to being a mom. I know I have my moments, but they are short lived and worth it!
NOW FOR YOUR VIEWING PLEASURE. I INTRODUCE TO YOU MY LIFE AT
6 MONTHS OLD. IT DOESN'T GET ANY SWEETER THAN THIS PEOPLE!
